Life Story
Boerne, TX — Ralph Riley Quested, 72, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
Born September 7, 1939, in Salina, KS, the son of Ralph R. Quested, Sr & Vivena (Quested) Craft. He was the oldest of 4 siblings.
He leaves his wife of 25 years, Margie Quested; daughter, Melody Moris (Mike), son, Lee Quested (Pamela), 2 step-sons, Robert Field (Esther), and Duane Scott Field, his mother, Vivena Craft, sister, Beatrice Cox, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In his early years, Mr. Quested had the opportunity to travel around the country with his mother and stepfather, who was serving in the military. They eventually settled in San Antonio. Mr. Quested graduated from Thomas A. Edison high school in 1957. He enjoyed working with his hands and began working at Universal Form Tops as a cabinet maker and worked his way up to shop foreman. Mr. Quested retired from Universal Form Tops in 2001. He truly cherished the wonderful friends he made during his 38 years with them.
Mr. Quested had a passion for animals and raised Beagles for several years. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed the outdoors, and of course, he never met a Western he didn’t like!!
Mr. Quested was always happiest surrounded by the children in his life; whether it was with the 5 foster children he and his wife cared for, his wonderful grandchildren or his precious little great-grandchildren he was never afraid to “cut-up” and have fun with them! They all truly loved their “paw-paw”.
Mr. Quested was preceded in death by his father, Ralph R Quested, Sr, and his 2 brothers, Robert & Jesse Quested.
A memorial service will be held, on Friday, June 15th at the New Life Family Church, 11020 D’Hanis Street, La Coste, TX 78039 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Linda Noblett officiating.
