9/11 Tribute: Frank G. Schott, Jr.
Frank G. Schott, Jr. of Massapequa Park in Long Island was a loving husband and father who fell victim to the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, September 11, 2001. He was 39, and he was working as an assistant vice president of technology for Marsh & McLennan on the 96th floor of Tower One.
Born in 1961, Schott was a 1979 graduate of Smithfield High School and a 1983 graduate of the University of Rhode Island. Schott was described as gentle, quiet, and very smart. He was also known as a hard worker, animal lover, and avid gardener. He married his wife, Dina, in 1993, and had three children: Erica, Robert, and Jonathan. As a father, he enjoyed spending Saturdays with his children, even bringing them on the train to work with him if he couldn’t get free from the office. As a husband, he had an incredible routine of fixing dinner after long days at work.
In his memory, his wife planted a tree and attached a plaque to a brick wall in his garden in their backyard. It is evident that Frank Schott was a man dearly loved; clearly, he is greatly missed.
This tribute is part of an effort to remember the 2,996 victims of the 9/11 tragedy. For more information, visit the Project 2996 web site.
