Best know for playing the young George Bailey in the classic Christmas movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” Bob Anderson succumbed to cancer on Friday, June 6 at the age of 75. Anderson was raised among the hub-bub of Hollywood - his father was an assistant director and production manager, his uncles were directors and his brothers and cousins all worked in the business.
Anderson’s mother had him in movies when he was a baby before he got his first acting movie role at he age of 7 in Shirley Temple’s “Young People.” He also appeared in the 1945 movie “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” before landing his best known role as young George Bailey in Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Anderson served as a photographer in the Navy during the Korean War and returned home to continue to work in Hollywood as an assistant director and production manager in movies and television.
