Hollywood Ambassador Johnny Grant Passes Away

Johnny Grant, honorary Hollywood mayor know for his years of promoting and cheerleading the greatness of the area, passed away on Wednesday, January 9 at the age of 84. He was found dead in a Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel room where he lived. Natural causes are the apparent cause of death.

Korean boxing champion Yo-Sam Choi died from brain injuries just days after a fight where he defended the WBO Inter-Contintental flyweight title. On December 25, Yo-Sam defeated Heri Amol by unanimious decision. During the fight he was dropped but got back to his feet to win the fight. He collapsed while still in the ring after the fight and was immediately taken to the Soonchunhyang University Hospital. There he had to undergo brain surgery but was unable to come back into consciousness. He was officially pronounced dead on January 2. He was 37 years old.

Coffins associated with “natural†burials must not require formaldehyde embalming, cement vaults, chemical lawn treatments or laminated caskets.
Pat Kirkwood, British star of stage and screen for several decades, passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 86. Kirkwood was a star of British musical comedy during its height and was dubbed the British Betty Grable. She was a star among stars and performed in a number of arenas and capacities. Whether performing in West End Revues, cabarets, pantomimes or variety shows, her effervescent style, energy and charm won over her audiences. She performed in original productions of Cole Porter – My Heart Belongs to Daddy and Most Gentlemen Don’t Like Love – which made her a star at the age of 18 and her West End Revue Ace of Clubs by Noel Coward won her accolades.
Los Angeles television and radio sports announcer Stu Nahan passed away this week at the age of 81. Nahan was battling lymphoma for sometime. Nahan has a long and incredible life story that included announcing sports he loved as well as appearing in some very popular movies.
