Pastor of Bombed Alabama Church, John H. Cross Jr., Passes Away

Reverend John H. Cross Jr., the heroic pastor who dug through the rubble looking for survivors after his Alabama church was bombed in 1963 passed away at the age of 82. During the blast, four young girls were killed, becoming additional tragedies during the civil rights movement. Cross presided over the solemn funeral services of the girls and Martin Luther King Jr. delivered memorable eulogies as well.

American Novelist and Playwright Ira Levin Passes On

American novelist and playwright Ira Levin passed away in Manhattan on Monday, November 12, 2007 from a heart attack. His writing has been described as “smart, updated versions of the kind of folksy legends that cultures have always used.” He provided several generations with classic novels, plays and ultimately movies with his witty writing.

National Survivors of Suicide Day

On Saturday, November 17, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) held the ninth annual National Survivors of Suicide Day. This nationwide event provided an opportunity for thousands of people in the national survivor community to connect with others for emotional support, healing, grieving, to gather information and to share their experiences of loss.

Hitchcock Actress Laraine Day Passes Away
