Creative Grieving A Good Way to Help with Loss

Creative activities can be powerfully therapeutic when working through grief after a loss. Through creative tasks like writing, filming, painting, or photography, we find ways of expressing our feelings and honoring those we miss. Developing a song for a lost grandmother who loved the ocean or writing a poem expressing how much you miss your father who gave his life in the war bring expression to your feelings and enlighten others as to the type of person your loved one was. Creating something beautiful during a sad or tragic time is what keeps us as humans moving forward and draws light onto those we love and loved.

Here are some creative ideas you may want to consider if you are looking for a way to honor a loved one and cope with your own grief.

  • Write a letter to the lost loved one
