Dan Fogelberg Dies of Prostate Cancer at the Age of 56
Beloved songwriter Dan Fogelberg died on Sunday after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was a pioneer of the soft-rock genre, entertaining generations with his love ballads and nostalgic lyrics. He was known for such songs as “Leader of the Band,†“Same Old Lang Syne,†and the “Rhythm of the Rain.â€
Dan’s death was announced on his web site Sunday morning:
“Dan left us this morning at 6 a.m. He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife, Jean, at his side. His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.”
Dan had several platinum and multi-platinum records produced and made fans out of millions around the world.
