How to Know What Flower Arrangement to Send to a Grieving Loved One
When someone we know has lost a loved one, it is our hope to try to encourage and lift them from the sadness and grief that is sure to engulf them. Many do this by sending a written condolence or calling them to give words of encouragement. For many of us, it is hard to put all of the emotions we feel into words both because the pain affects us as well but also because we want to be sure to say just the right thing. This is why many of us turn to flowers as a way to send our love and thoughts to a family who has lost someone close to them. Choosing the right kind of floral arrangement or plant in this instance does not have to be difficult.
A quality florist will be able to take some information from you about the occasion for which you are sending flowers and a description of the personality or favorite colors of either the deceased or the person grieving and assemble an appropriate funeral or memorial arrangement. In general, soft, tender colors in shades of pastel are the best for invoking feelings of comfort and love. Pastels are nurturing colors (just think of a nursery room) and they can say what many of us can’t during times of grief and sadness.
So don’t be afraid to show your love and support when someone has died. Use flowers to send your love and encourage those you love.
