Jett Travolta, Son of John Travolta
Losing a son. Can you imagine anything more difficult to experience? This tragedy befell one of Hollywood’s most loved couples this New Years. John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston lost their eldest son Jett Travolta on Friday, January 2, 2008 while vacationing with their family in the Bahamas. Jett was just 16 years old. What is currently known is that he suffered a seizure and hit his head while falling. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. The family suspects that Jett’s Kawasaki disease, a rare inflammatory disorder of the artery walls, was triggered by cleaning chemicals and caused the seizure. Now the family, Hollywood and the caring people at the West End community where the family frequented are all in mourning.
This past year, so many families have experienced this loss – losing a son tragically. Soldiers away at war are giving their life for their country. Sons are battling drugs and addiction. And some, like Jett, are taken from the world tragically. The prayers of the Valley of Life family are with the Travolta family today.

Jett’s Memorial was held yesterday. The family had a private ceremony with family and friends to mourn the loss of their sun.
