Kevin Duckworth, Basketball Player


Former center for the Portland Trail Blazers, Kevin Duckworth, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008 at the age of 44 due to heart disease. Duckworth was on a trip on the Oregon Coast to host a free basketball clinic when he died.

Duckworth played along side Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter and Buck Williams during two Western Conference Championship seasons in the 1990s. He averaged 11.8 points per came over his 11 seasons in the NBA and was twice an NBA All-Star.  After he retired in 1997, he remained in Portland and took up woodworking, fishing and hunting.  He was well known and well-loved in the Oregon area.

    Ya’ll might want to change the month Kevin Duckworth died. Believe it was August as September 25th hasn’t arrived yet.
