Massive Earthquake in Haiti: How You Can Help

To the people of Haiti and those with friends and family in the tragedy-stricken nation, Valley of Life expresses its most sincere condolences for your loss and continues hoping for the best as more information unfolds.

HaitiA devastating 7.0 earthquake, originating just outside capitol city Port-au-Prince of the island nation Haiti, has left the country in chaos. The earthquake began yesterday, Tuesday, January 12, around 5 p.m. local time and was punctuated by over a dozen aftershocks into the night. Unofficial estimates put over 100,000 people dead, and many more injured and without homes. Nearly 3 million people are expected to require aid.

As a result, many organizations are mobilizing efforts to send much-needed relief to the country as soon as possible. Amazingly, the capitol’s airport is still functional. While you may not be able to physically travel to Haiti to help, you can support the many organizations that can.

Below, you’ll find links to a number of these relief organizations. Please consider donating to a relief organization in an effort to support the many people affected in the wake of this disaster.

Currently Mobilized Relief Organizations:
