Ohio Support Group Helps The Bereaved Move On

Many find that there are a lot of emotions of depression and guilt felt when a living loved one moves on with their life activities after suffering the loss of someone they loved. Moving on with life decisions is a healthy step toward recovering from grief. Some use creative outlets like writing songs, developing online memorials or putting together a slide show to help move on. There are people that you can talk to when going through this stage of bereavement to help deal with these pains.

The Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) Center for Loss and Hope in Ohio is offering a group series focusing on supporting people who are going through the journey of grief and are now incorporating new behaviors in their lives as they attempt to create their “new normal.” Starting in 2008, the group will meet the second Wednesday of each month from 2:00pm - 3:30pm or from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.

For more information on the location and group size, call the Bereavement Coordinator’s office at (330)668-4662.

Hospice of VNS has set out to alleviate suffering, engender hope, promote living and facilitate grieving among patients with serious or life-limiting illnesses, their families and their communities. VNSA serves Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Wayne and surrounding counties and is a member of the Akron General Health System.
