Sandy Howard, Film & TV Producer


Film and television producer, Sandy Howard, passed away at the age of 80 due to Alzheimer disease complications in Woodland Hills, California. She was best known for producing “The Island of Dr. Moreau” and the 1970s Western “A Man Called Horse.”

Sandy was born in the Bronx and began her career on Broadway as a publicist before turning to television. Her first directing job was on “Howdy Doody” at the young age of 19. She also helped produced beloved TV show “Captain Kangaroo.”
