StandUp2 Cancer
Last night, over 50 celebrities came on primetime TV and asked for money. Not for themselves but for the millions of americans that continue to die from cancer and cancer related illnesses. They came to get American’s on board the StandUp2Cancer movement.
Standup2Cancer is creating a new way to develop cancer breakthroughs that can actually end this terrible disease. They are putting together the best and the brightest minds in cancer research, investing in their cutting edge projects and taking the bureaucratic obstacles out of their way. The organization is aimed at building interdisciplinary “Dream Teams” of scientists, clinicians, technicians and other experts, who will focus on a specific cancer problem.
The money collected by the organization will be distributed by the American Association for Cancer Research in a Grant process. You can read more about how the funds are distributed at Where The Money Goes and Why.
One out of every 2 men and 1 out of every 3 women will get cancer in their lifetime. That statistic is startling, scary and unacceptable. We can all help develop the cure for colon, breast, pancreatic, lung and brain cancer if we pool together our resources and put it in the hands of the people on the cusp of doing great things in the field of cancer research.
