Support Group Teaches Grief Process and Coping

The Hospice of Visiting Nurse Services in Ohio is offering an eight-week series of classes for people who wish to learn what they might experience during the grieving process. Many Americans are helping care for parents during their later years or have hired hospice care to ease their pain during their final stages of life. This course will help families come to terms with the grief they may feel in the future as their loved one passes away.

Group members will share their stories, emotions, victories and hopes, and receive information on the grieving process, along with tools for handling the grief response.

The series will be held three times during 2008:

  • Starting Thursday, January 10
  • Starting Thursday, May 1
  • Starting Thursday, September 4

All three series will offer the sessions from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and from 6:30pm – 8:30pm to accommodate multiple schedules. All sessions will be held at the Hospice of VNS Justin T. Rogers Care Center located at 3358 Ridgewood Road in Akron. For more information call the Bereavement Coordinator’s office at 330-668-4662.
