Sympathy Floral Arrangements | How Do You Choose?

Many wonder if there is a wrong type of floral arrangement to send to a family or friend who is grieving over the death of someone they loved. The answer is not really, so long as the arrangement is thoughtful. There are a variety of traditional, generally considered appropriate arrangements you can send as sympathy flowers. Many times fan-shaped designs, baskets or easel spray designs are sent during these times.

The fan-shaped or easel sprays typically use pastel colored flowers like carnations, gladiolas, lilies, chrysanthemums or roses. Baskets of greenery, potted plants or simple flowering plants are also popular as they will last longer and can be given to a charity or planted in the honor of the loved one. These are all what is commonly done but are not hard and fast rules. Use your knowledge of the family and the deceased to have the florist create something they may like. Use favorite colors or flowers to create something that says your thoughts and prayers are with the family.
