A year after pop singer Michael Jackson’s unexpected death, his legacy still lives through his music. “Access Hollywood” reports the King of Pop has sold about 35 million albums in the last 12 months. Jackson died in 2009 after having a fatal amount of anesthesia and sedatives administered to him.
The holiday season is a difficult and often the hardest time to deal with the loss of a loved one. I think the same is true when we lose other noteworthy people that impacted the way we live and how we see the world. We hope this year’s final installment of “Remembering Those We Lost” is filled with amazing people you will not soon forget.
Each year we lose some of the world’s best loved and most influential people. Like the loved ones we mourn and honor with online memorials, Valley of Life also likes to honor these people that had a widespread impact on the world in which we live.
As we’ve just witnessed the passing of another year, let’s not forget those lives we lost in 2009. In addition to the loved ones represented in the Valley of Life Memorials on the Life Story page, other history-makers, entertainers, and talented individuals also left us with a huge void this past year.
Sadly, many incredible people lost their lives in 2009, and we have honored many outstanding individuals this year at Valley of Life. Musicians, actors, athletes, artists, doctors, philanthropists, soldiers — the list goes on. As we look ahead to the coming year, let us remember again the meaningful contributions of those that we said goodbye to in 2009.
