Is too much TV deadly?

A recent study set to be published this week in Circulation, an American Heart Association journal, links television viewing to early death and heart disease. The study shows that participants who watched four or more hours of TV per day were 80 percent more likely to die from heart disease, and 46 percent more likely to die earlier all together.

The man who played the beloved mind-reading demon on TV’s Angel, Andy Hallett, died on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA. Hallett had been battling heart disease for the last five years. He was just 33 years old. Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans who followed the show’s spin-off Angel, are mourning one of the show’s few light-hearted characters in an otherwise dark and heart-wrenching show. Hallett’s character, Lorne, could read people’s minds and troubles when they sang.
