Singer-Songwriter Kenny Rankin dies

RankinSinger-songwriter Kenny Rankin died Sunday as a result of complications related to lung cancer. He was 69. An acclaimed New York-based talent, Rankin, perhaps, was known first for his guitar on Bob Dylan’s 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. Additionally, Rankin is also famous for his song writing, including “Peaceful” (Helen Reddy), “Haven’t We Met” (Carmen McRae and Mel Torme), and “In the Name of Love” (Peggy Lee).

Steven Gilborn, Actor

steven_gilbornVeteran television actor Steven Gilborn passed away at his home in North Chatham, New York on Friday, January 2, 2008. He was 72 years old.  Gilborn had survived lung cancer five years ago but had recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Gilborn was a well-recognized TV actor who had major roles on several hit sitcoms including Ellen (as Ellen’s father) and the Wonder Years (as one of Kevin’s teachers). More recently he appeared in Damages and Without A Trace.
