Early Chinese Settlers Get a Proper Burial
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010The remains of some of the United State’s earliest Chinese settlers will finally have a chance to be laid to rest next month after five years of uncertainty. Their original graves were unearthed during the construction of a light rail line in east Los Angeles sparking years of debate and discussion over how best to honor them. Now, these early immigrants have been honored with a memorial wall at Evergreen Cemetery in LA, the cemetery where their remains will be laid to rest.

Keep the Evans family in your prayers today – today is the 8 year anniversary since Emerson Leroy Jr. passed away unexpectedly. His children and his siblings will be missing him, remembering him and celebrating his life today. Send them an encouraging word if you think of it. The pain doesn’t go away completely when you lose someone so close to you.
