With Memorial Day approaching, remembering those who have died in service to our country is foremost on many people’s minds. To help give families a place online to grieve for their fallen military heroes, Valley of Life is proud to partner with USFallen.org, a wonderful non-profit, non-partisan volunteer organization that produces weekly internet episodes showcasing active military fallen soldiers and honoring notable veterans. The social networking site Facebook recently implemented a way to memorialize the profile pages of people who have passed away. While this is a noble gesture on the part of the Facebook team, these memorialized profile pages can’t come close to offering the richness and depth that the Online Memorials at Valley of Life provide.

It is hard to believe that it has almost been two years since Mom passed away. October 20th will be just another day for mostly anybody else on the planet. For me though, this day is a reminder that life is short, life is precious and life shouldn’t be taken for granted even for a small moment. Being a Mom myself makes this fact more poignant.
