Remember a Loved One: Write an Honest Obituary

obitOne of the greatest ways to preserve the memory of someone you’ve lost is to do so with honesty — painting an accurate picture, portraying a clear image, telling a true story. Often, the first medium through which friends and family can do this is an obituary. As such, don’t copy what others have written in the past, but write something completely unique to the person you’re wishing to memorialize.

Remember a Loved One: Record an Audio Message

After learning of Valley of Life’s new affiliate, BroadcastBio, I spent some time on their web site reading content, but I mostly listened to their service demos. I was struck by how meaningful and moving a personally-scripted audio message could be, specifically a message like the one on the Memorials page.

Remember a Loved One: Plant a Garden

flowersLast weekend, my wife planted her very first garden. She did all the work herself, save filling the tiller with gas. She dug up a patch of earth, tilled it, planted some tomato and strawberry starts and a few flowers, and has been watering them ever since. Now, we have a legitimate garden in our backyard.
