Minnesota Residents Grieve Over Bridge Tragedy
Wednesday, August 8th, 2007
Minnesota residents observed a moment of silence on Tuesday in memory of those lost and hurt during the collapse of the Interstate 35W Bridge. Residents of the Twin Cities – St. Paul and Minneapolis – threw flowers into the river and poured vials of water into the river after blessing it as church bells tolled in the city. The observances were held to assist the city with its grief over the losses of lives and the trauma of the unexpected disaster.
