We've never had a cremation in our immediate family.

I was just wondering if people here would be more likely to retain the ashes of a loved one, or have them spread at an appropriate location?

I guess that would depend if my family members would want to be spread out if they was to be cremated. I would respect their wishes. I personally would want to keep the ashes though.

My family follows a tradition when cremated. Our family keeps the ashes. I will honor this tradition and do the same.

My family been keeping ashes for the decade now. This is how will be doing it, if one my immediate family members were to pass on. If they chose to be cremeted that is.

I think that decision really depends on the wishes and/or personality of the deceased. Would the love one want to spend eternity with the family or would they want to some how be shared with the world in some form? This is when the importance of talking about someone's wishes after death is so important. We can't shy away from a discussion on death no matter if we are young or old. You have to let your family know!
