The past and the future are both important parts of who we are. How do we reconcile the two so that one is not left behind for the other, and the past is not a burden to the future?

I am there, my fellow travelers. I am ready to introduce someone new to the life that I have lived thus far. This is my journey and I share it willingly with you who are or will be traveling the same road. I will let you know how it goes.

For now, it is my goal to allow my loss to take its place among the events of my past, and move forward. The person who comes alongside will need to understand that there was a life before they were in it, and the same back to them. I hope to treat a potential partner with the same consideration. I will simply be honest and forthcoming, allowing space and pace to the introduction.

Life is a journey, not a destination. Someone wise said that before me. It's so true.
