My husband wore the same thing 6 and a half days a week. He owned nearly 50 pinstriped oxfordcloth work shirts with his company name embroidered on the front. These he wore with black jeans and his work boots. He had an intricate system of marking the shirts for age and appropriateness for wear. Most of them were so well worn that the familiar smell of him could not be removed.
After he died, the many remaining shirts needed a new life. One of our old blankets needed recovering. It now is quilted with patches of dad shirts. What else does one do with such things? I got an idea............
I went to the craft store and purchased 4 Euro shaped pillow forms. For Christmas, each of my children got a huge pillow made of one of their dad's shirts. They are able to hug this and smell the scent of him. They loved this wonderful gift from thier dad and me.

Isn't it amazing the little things that we come to appreciate after someone has gone. Their clothes, their smell, their unusual habits. I wonder if anyone else out their has found a creative way like this one to keep those memories alive forever?
