Lucky 7s by Robyn Welch
Most of my favorite stories about my Aunt Patti include some sort of profanity (which is essentially what makes them my favorite), but here's a clean one...I went to visit my Aunt Patti and Uncle Marc in Palm Springs in August of 2002 and one night during my stay we went to their favorite local casino for dinner and gambling. I strolled around and played it safe on different slot machines, but I noticed that Patti was in it to win it on one machine in particular...everytime I came back, there she was. It was one of those "high roller" slots, so I basically told her she was crazy and it was never gonna happen, but of course anyone who knows her knows that she doesn't take no for an answer. At a certain point, her determination intrigued me and I just had to stay and watch. Then all of a sudden, I started believing it too and then...seven...seven...seven!!!! SHE DID IT and we screamed and danced and kissed right there on the casino floor like we owned the place. That's the thing about my Aunt Patti...she was larger than life even when she was here with us.

I met Patty through her amazing daughter Miri about 5 years ago. Believe me when I say 'Like Mother, Like Daughter'. Just being in their presence brings this uncontrollable smile to your face. I know that I have never been around Patty or heard a story envolving her that doesnt make me laugh so much it hurts. She LIVED her life, and touched so many peoples lives. I know that for this breif time Ive been blessed to know Patty, she had a huge affect on me.
XOXOXOXO
Miss You Mama Patty
