Life Story

Wendel Charles Walker returned home to the loving arms of his Father in Heaven on June 11, 2009 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on September 1, 1926 to Ephiam Walker and Thora Burnett in Clinton, UT. He was the oldest of 7 children. A man of great faith and a lover of God and country, he was a Navy Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He married his sweet-heart, Jimmie Ruth Gotcher, on November 10, 1945. They have been married , or 63 years. Together they had three children, Sandy, Jeff, and Steve and raised them in Seattle, WA, where Wendel was a successful stockbroker for over thirty years. An avid golfer, he relished his time spent on the course and was proud of his 6 hole-in-ones! However, the things he cherished the most in life were his family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed!
